On Tuesday May 8, 2018 just before 4:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers as part of a Road Safety Initiative were monitoring traffic on King George Road. Officers were monitoring the speed of traffic in the area. Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was confirmed to be travelling over a 130 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. Officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. A 22 year old Cambridge male is charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt Speeding by 50 Km/hr or more and Speeding 132 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone under the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
