On Friday June 22, 2018 just after 5:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers, as part of a Road Safety Initiative, were monitoring traffic on King George Road. Officers were monitoring the speed of traffic in the area. Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic. The vehicle was confirmed to be travelling over a 135 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. Officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. A 49 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt Speeding by 50 Km/hr or more and Speeding 135 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone under the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
