Theft – Arrest

On Sunday June 24, 2018 just after 7:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a store on Stanley Street. The employee reported that an unknown male had just stolen a number of items and fled. The employee and a citizen followed the male to a local park where they spoke to the male while waiting for police. During the interaction with the suspect, he pulled a knife on them and threatened to stab them if they didn’t leave him alone. The suspect fled on foot. Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the male a short distance away. The accused was arrested without incident. Investigation revealed the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions. An 18 year old male from Ohsweken is charged with Theft Under $5000, Assault with a Weapon x2, Uttering threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm x2, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
