Brantford Police respond to multiple reports of disturbance | August 18th and 19th

Location: Market Street
Incident: On Sunday August 19, 2018 just before 3:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service
received a call about a disturbance at a business on Market Street. An
unknown male had come into the business and started to cause a
disturbance for the staff and customers. During the disturbance the male
tried to get behind the counter and fight the staff, threatening to kill them.
The staff with assistance from patrons were able to escort the male out of
the business while he continued to try an engage them in a physical
confrontation. Community Patrol Officers attended, located and arrested
the male without incident. A 26 year old Brantford male is charged with
Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death and Cause a Disturbance
by Fighting.

Location: Queen Street
Incident: On Saturday August 18, 2018 just after 10:30 p.m. Brantford Police
Service received a 9-1-1 call regarding an unknown male yelling,
screaming and causing a disturbance in the middle of the street. The male
was seen swinging around an unknown object. Community Patrol
Officers attended to the area where they located the male. While
attempting to speak to the male he became aggressive towards the officers
at the scene, threatening them and threw the object striking one of the
officers. The accused then fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit the
accused was arrested. While dealing with the male after his arrest he
continued to be aggressive towards police attempting to spit on them a
number of times. Information was received that the accused was currently
on a court order with conditions. A 34 year old Brantford male is charged
with Assault with a Weapon, Possess Weapons Dangerous, Utter Threats
to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Assaulting a Peace Officer x2 and Breach
of Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Colborne Street
Incident: On Saturday August 18, 2018 just before 7:30 p.m. Brantford Police
Service received a 9-1-1 call from a business on Colborne Street. An
unknown female had attended into the store where she tried to steal items.
When confronted by staff she then began to yell and scream at the
employees and other patrons inside. The female was asked to leave but
refused and became more belligerent, yelling and swearing. The accused
grabbed one of the employees and punched them in the head and
threatened to shot them and burn down the business. Community Patrol
Officers attended and arrested the accused without incident. A 25 year old
Hagersville woman is charged with Assault, Utter Threats to Cause Death
or Bodily Harm, Utter Threats to Destroy or Damage Property and Cause
a Disturbance by Yelling. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
