On December 3rd, 2019 the Brantford Police Service were alerted by the United States – Homeland Security and the Albuquerque Police Department that a male from Brantford had engaged in on-line luring of a female believed to be 14 years of age.

A joint investigation was conducted which included the Brantford Police Service – Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit (CASA)  and the BPS – Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

As a result of the joint investigation a male was arrested and charged with sex related offences. Gerald Alfred Lucas, 60 years old from Brantford has been charged with Luring a Person Under 16 Years of Age by means of Telecommunication and Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 16 Years of Age.

The accused was held for a bail hearing. Members of the BPS-CASA Unit have continued to investigate this incident and have further executed a search warrant at a residence on Freeborn Ave, where they seized several computers and electronic devices used to facilitate the offences.

Brantford Police believe that the accused used several social media chat sites with the user name of Canadainman_47 and believe that there may be other victims.

Anyone with information or who may have had contact with this individual is urged to contact the Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050 or Det. Michael Korda of the Brantford Police-CASA Unit at 519-756-0113 x 3007
