Lansdowne’s infection control and disease prevention protocols mean that,

“Through abundant precaution against COVID-19 spread, we have made the decision to suspend all face-to-face services with clients”.

Rita-Marie Hadley, Executive Director, Lansdowne Children’s Centre

“All of our sites will be closed to clients, families and the public as of today, March 15 until at least April 6, 2020.”

Daily, and year-round, Lansdowne Children’s Centre works to ensure the health and safety of local children and youth with physical, communication or developmental challenges so they live their best lives.

We are notifying client families and appreciate our media partners’ support in amplifying this message. We will communicate updates and next steps and appreciate the community’s understanding as we work through operational changes in this unprecedented situation.

This balances concern about the impact on those who need our services most with the high priority on protecting the well-being of some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals.

Lansdowne’s 250+ dedicated pediatric professionals provide children from birth through to end-of-school with rehabilitation, respite, recreation and Autism services, Developmental Pediatrics, special needs resourcing in licensed childcare and Infant & Child Development services.

Lansdowne’s pandemic and business continuity plans are part of the high standards Lansdowne meets to be accredited by Accreditation Canada. A member of Empowered Kids Ontario, and awarded Accreditation Canada’s Commendation Standing, Lansdowne Children’s Centre annually serves 2600+ young people from birth and their families across Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, Six Nations of the Grand and the Mississaugas of the Credit Staff work in-Centre, in family homes, in schools, in 30+ childcare sites, at Simcoe, Caledonia & Dunnville sites and outreach locations as well as its Kids’ Country Inn–providing overnight respite for children/youth who are medically fragile or technologically dependent.

Clients served range from children with slight articulation problems to life threatening challenges with needs arising from Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, Brain Injury, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism or other developmental delays.
