A 26-year-old Hamilton man was arrested after hiding a knife outside of the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday.

Around 12:30 p.m. the man was observed taking several items out of his pockets and concealing them in a flower pot outside the courthouse on Queen Street.

A community patrol officer seized the items, that included a kitchen knife with an almost 13 centimeter blade.

The man was charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and breach of probation.

A Brantford woman lost $70 after a Kijiji scam.

The 55-year-old woman reported the fraud on Thursday after she responded to an advertisement for an AppleTV on Kijiji and transferred $70 to an email provided by the advertiser.

She was given an address in Waterloo to pick-up the item, but when she arrived she was told the occupants did not have the AppleTV and did not post the advertisement.

Kijiji’s help desk suggests the best way to prevent fraud is to meet with sellers face-to-face.
