Summertime Smoothies  – Good to the last sip …

A blender is a blender is a blender …

If it mixes by pulse or pureeing, then you are set!  Hand blenders, food processors and smoothie makers are really all you need.

Here are helpful tips for making delicious smoothies this summer!

When fruit is in season, visit your local farm or farmers market and affordably pick up fruit for freezing.  I just visited Brantwood Farms for some amazing pick your own berries that were huge & easy to pick.   You can purchase a large volume of beautiful fresh fruit from the market or farmer in season. Wash by running under cool water. Clean by removing the stem or seeds & get ready for freezing. Place the washed fruit on a cookie or baking sheet in single layer so the fruit can be individually frozen.  Be sure the sheet can be placed flat in your freezer.   Freeze for one hour to flash freeze.  After one hour remove the sheet from the freezer and place fruit into a freezer bag.  Now you can grab a handful of fruit for a smoothie, for baking, for sangria’s or whatever your preference.

Let’s blend a smoothie! So good for you & an affordably healthy start to the day.

Here’s a few of my faves.
