Stumbled upon this quaint scene. Picture it (in your mind) a sweet pair of herons, pond side. I quietly pull out the big lens and point it at them, finger poised on the shutter. It could almost be an engagement shot, I swear. Down the road rumbles a dump truck startling the couple. Mr. Heron flies skyward up and over the trees and disappears. Miss Heron dazed and confused flits across the pond to the far side, feather’s ruffled, sobbing (ok I made that up, she wasn’t sobbing).
