Calling ALL Bikers! May 11 15th Annual Lansdowne Ride

Hear YE…Hear YE… bikers of all ages shapes, sizes, and backgrounds… the weekend warriors, the traveled deckers and the family units that live for life and love to ride!

LANSDOWNE CHILDREN’S CENTRE 15TH ANNUAL MOTORCYCLE RIDE is next weekend May 11th. Starting at the Brantford Civic Centre. Registration is at 9:00 and departure is at 11:00. Last minute decisions to join us are always welcome.

Each year hundreds of riders come out to enjoy a fully escorted ride through the rural countryside. The singular joy they all express is when they make a side trip past Lansdowne and all the kids have their signs and horns while cheering you on as thanks for everything you do that makes their lives better.

Yes… FULLY escorted! Police officers from many police services from surrounding municipalities lead the pack, block incoming traffic and bypass all intersections.

This ride is a non-touch down ride. Once the riders leave the Brantford Civic Centre, they do not stop until they return for celebration, awards, entertainment and thanks from the Lansdowne Children’s Centre on behalf of the kids.

The ride raises significant funds for Lansdowne’s Recreation program that provides hours of supported activities to children with special needs. This year’s ride will launch a new route that will hug the Grand River. Once again, the riders will feast on an amazing breakfast and lunch thanks to Strodes BBQ and Deli. Brian Witteveen continues to be an integral partner in the ride. Our riders love his food.

Special guest Steven Branchaud will perform at the event. Steven, a local artist continues to wow audiences with his amazing vocals. Despite any weather variables. Steven always performs barefooted. It’s his thing.

The ride is the brainchild of founder Bob Caissie, who also just completed his 19th annual Great Northern Ride raising $201,000.00. Over 95 skidoo enthusiasts travelled to Bathurst, New Brunswick riding over thousands of km through rough terrain. Next year will be the ride’s 20th anniversary and we eagerly await the announcement of the location for the ride. The ride continues to be supported by key corporate sponsors and also supports Lansdowne’s unfunded programs.

To date both ski-dooers and bikers together have raised over 3.5 million dollars. Bob and the ski or wheeled riders are seen as angels for the kids.

Lansdowne awards the top pledge earners with special prizes. A small gesture of thank you for all their hard work in support the kids.

Seeya there for the thrill…and the kids!
