Tenacious, that is one word that describes this non-migratory bird. A light weight in the birding world, appears out of nowhere to any outstretched hand with seeds in it. Other than their sharp little “talons” you can barely feel them when they land on you. I suppose their tenacity comes from their fierce survival skills year round no matter what the weather. “Chickadee-dee-dee” is their call to battle. Adorably cute.
