Heroes Walk and Roll Event | Lansdowne Children’s Centre
BRANT PARK is the location for Lansdowne Children’s Centre Foundation first annual Heroes Walk and Roll event, September 14.
Looking forward to seeing all of the special heroes from our community on September 14, Brant Park, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Enter from 119 Jennings Road, main park entrance.
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. Traditionally our heroes are policeman, fireman, military personal, paramedics, teachers and doctors. At Lansdowne we see a different hero every day. Our children come to the Centre each day to receive treatment for a variety of different issues from our passionate therapists. Often times they are dressed as their favourite superhero.
We have been so fortunate over the years to host two successful events, our Great Northern Ride and Charity Motorcycle Ride as founded by local businessman Bob Caissie. They have raised millions to support our unfunded programs at Lansdowne. We realized that these events presented an opportunity to engage with our children and their families from the Centre. Accordingly, we created the Heroes Walk and Roll in hopes that everyone from the Centre would come out to Brant Park for a short walk/roll, enjoy a hero movie, stretch with some yoga, and have some fun. Each child will receive special treats to take home and by participating in the event will ensure that our unfunded programs will continue. To register visit raceroster.com and search for ‘Lansdowne’. Download your pledge form and start planning your costume. Dogs are welcomed on leash in their best attire. Hero bandannas have been specially made for our four-legged family members.
For more information email twhelan@lansdownecc.com and make sure you follow the Lansdowne Facebook page for more information.
Remember, “I think a hero is really any person intent on making this a better place for all people”- Maya Angelou has said.
Let’s Walk and Roll, and support Lansdowne Children’s Centre, the wonderful programs, staff and our kids.
We can all be a hero on September 14th.
