Assault – Bail Hearing Pending

On Sunday May 20th 2018 just after 12:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about an assault at a residence on Market Street. The 18 year old victim had returned to her residence where she found the rear window to her residence had been smashed. Shortly after returning home the victim was confronted by the accused who had re-attended her residence. The victim had gone outside to speak to the accused when the accused began to assault her. The victim was struck a number of times in the head and face causing non-life threatening injuries. The victim was eventually able to get back inside her residence and call for help while the accused fled the area. Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the victim. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation revealed that the accused and victim were known to each other and that the accused is bound by court order with conditions. A 19 year old Brantford woman is charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Mischief to Property Under $5000 and Breach of Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
