Clarence Street – Impaired Driver

On Wednesday May 30, 2018 just before 4:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Clarence Street. Officers observed the vehicle fail to stop for a red traffic light at Clarence Street and Colborne Street. Officers performed a traffic stop and as the vehicle slowed and stopped it struck the curb. Officers upon speaking to the female driver observed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service where she was to provide samples of her breath as required by law. The accused samples were over twice the legal limit. A 59 year old Tara woman is charged with Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle and Operation of Motor Vehicle – Over 80. The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
