Female Shoplifter Charged With Trafficking
On Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 just after 5:00 p.m., Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a business on Clarence Street regarding a shoplifting incident. An unknown female had been seen concealing various items in her purse and then left the store without making any attempts to pay for them. The loss prevention officer had arrested the female for shoplifting; however she was trying to flee from the store and was becoming aggressive. Community Patrol Officers attended to the store where the female was arrested without incident. During the arrest the accused was found to be in possession of a number of controlled substances including:
· 4 pills – Xanax 2mg; with a street value of $20.00
· 9 pills – Hydromorphone Contin 4mg; street value of $45.00
· 32 pills – Hydromorphone Contin 3mg; street value of $96.00
· 22 packages of marijuana resin 1mg each; street value of $660.00
· 9.42 grams of crack cocaine; street value of $942.00
· 11.2 grams of Fentanyl; street value of $2800.00
· 58.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine: street value of $8715.00
Information received was that the accused was also currently bound by court order with conditions. A 28 year old Brantford female is charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code. She is also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Schedule I Substance x5, Possession for the purpose of Trafficking in Schedule II Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Schedule IV Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
