On Monday July 2, 2018 just before 9:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a stolen vehicle from an address on Hunter Way. The vehicle had been taken from the address sometime overnight. Community Patrol Officers through investigation were able to locate the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was observed in the area of Heagerty Street. Two unknown males were seen in the vehicle; accused #1 fled from police and was arrested after a short foot pursuit. Accused #2 was arrested without incident. Accused #1, a 20 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession Stolen Property Over $5000 and Escape Lawful Custody under the Criminal Code. He was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Dugs and Substances Act as he was found to be in possession of marijuana upon his arrest. Accused #2, a 20 year old Brantford male is charged with Occupant of Vehicle without consent.
