Two More Drivers Charged for Impaired | Lynden Road and Wayne Gretzky Parkway
On Thursday May 16, 2019 at approximately 8:10 p.m. Community Patrol Officers located a vehicle parked and running in a business parking lot on Lynden Road. The vehicles driver side door was open and two males were observed in the vehicle. Officers spoke to the occupants when they observed two open cans of beer in the centre console of the vehicle. While dealing with the male driver Officers observed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide samples of his breath as required by law. The accused readings were over two times the legal limit.
A 32-year-old Welland male has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and 80 Plus under the Criminal Code. His license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
On Wednesday May 15, 2019 just after 1:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call on Wayne Gretzky Parkway regarding a possible impaired driver. The driver had been travelling on Wayne Gretzky Parkway when he ran a red light and almost struck another vehicle. The driver stopped, got out of his vehicle and was stumbling around before getting back inside and trying to drive away. Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the vehicle and the driver. Officers when speaking to the male driver observed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide samples of his breath as required by law. The accused refused to provide samples.
As a result of the investigation a 39-year-old Brantford male has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Failure/Refusal to Comply with Demand. His license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
