Additional UPDATE Shooting Investigation | Near Alexandra Park

March 27 UPDATE: BRANTFORD SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

Through investigation, the Major Crime Unit has been able to identify one male responsible for the shooting and has been identified as Keyshawn COMMISSIONG 19 years old, who remains outstanding. It has been determined that a male who had earlier been linked as a suspect to the shooting, Isaiah CASTILLO 19 years old is not a suspect in this investigation. Police are seeking the public’s assistance again with information in regards to the second suspect who is described as:

Suspect #2 – Non-White male 5’7”-5’9”, with a medium build, and a mustache, last seen wearing a black jacket with pink, a dark hoodie, dark baseball hat, blue jeans, black running shoes with white soles.

The Brantford Police Service – Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the shooting that took place at around 1:00 p.m. in the area of Colborne Street and Park Ave.

Through investigation, the BPS Major Crime Unit has identified two males believed to be responsible in the shooting investigation and are seeking the public’s assistance with information in regards to their whereabouts.

Suspect #1 – Keyshawn COMMISSIONG- 19 years old, non-white male, 5’11, 165 lbs with black hair in dreadlocks, last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants with “Champion” in white lettering and brown boots.

Anyone who has information about the suspects or who sees the suspect males is urged to contact police or 9-1-1. Do not approach the suspects as they may be in possession of a firearm.

The Brantford Police Service-Major Crime Unit is continuing the investigation into the shooting and believe that this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.

Brantford Police Service would like to thank the Brant County OPP and the Hamilton Police Service for the assistance they provided in their respective jurisdictions with regards to this matter. The investigation is continuing within Brantford.

On Friday March 22 2019, a couple of hours ago, the Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call about a shooting that occurred in the area of Colborne Street and Park Ave. Community Patrol Officers responded to the scene where they located a male who suffered gunshot wounds. The male was transported to hospital.

The Brantford Police Service is actively investigating this incident.
