19-Year-Old-Female Arrested, Assault with Weapon | Drummond Street

On Saturday April 27, 2019 at around 10:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a disturbance out front of a residence on Drummond Street. A group of people had been seen fighting outside the residence.

Community Patrol Officers attended to the area however the parties had dispersed prior to police arrival. While speaking to the resident’s investigation revealed that a family member had attended the residence and started to cause a disturbance. When she was asked to leave she brandished a knife and came at of one of the occupants. They were able to get inside and locked the door. The suspect stated to bang on the door causing damage before leaving the area.

None of the residence were injured as a result of the incident.

Officers searched the area and located the suspect a short distance away. The accused was arrested without incident. While dealing with police the accused’s behaviour became out of control and she was transported to hospital for treatment. While at the hospital she became aggressive and threatening towards officers and hospital staff. Information was received that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.

As a result of the investigation a 19 year old Brantford woman is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapons Dangerous, Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Mischief to Property Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
