Drug Incident | Multiple Charges

On Wednesday May 1, 2019 just before 11:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Clarence Street. Information was received that the license plate attached to the vehicle was not for that vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the male driver. The driver was unable to provide a drivers license or any documents for the vehicle. The driver provided a name however investigation revealed that the name provided was false.

The driver was arrested without incident. While dealing with the accused an amount of suspected cocaine ($1500 value) was located in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation a 38-year-old Hagersville male has been charged with Obstruct Police under the Criminal Code and Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is further charged with Driver Fail to Surrender License, Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle and Fail to Surrender Permit for Vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act as well as Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
