Brantford Man Charged with Assault | Colborne Street
On Saturday November 16, 2019 Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding an assault at an address on Colborne St.
Two males had been at a residence when a verbal argument ensued which turned into a physical altercation. The accused began to punch and then struck the 35 year old victim with a hammer. The victim was able to get the accused out of his residence and shut the door when the accused forced his way back into the residence. The victim fled the residence to a nearby business for safety as the accused chased after him. The accused continued to threaten to cause bodily harm/death to the victim when an employee attempted to intervene. The accused then threatened the employee and struck the counter and walls of the business causing damage.
Community Patrol Officers attended to the business where they located and arrested the accused. The victim was transported to hospital by emergency medical services for non-life threatening injuries.
A 55 year old Brantford male has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Mischief to Property Under $5000 x3, Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm/ Death x2 and Break and Enter with Intent under the Criminal Code.
