Brantford, Ontario – In a swift response to a distress call from a concerned citizen, officers of the Brantford Police Service have apprehended a man believed to be responsible for an assault that occurred on July 10, 2023.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers discovered both individuals outside a residence. It was determined that the man had allegedly entered the home without permission and had assaulted the female victim. In response to the assault, the woman had chased the man out of the residence.

While the female victim sustained minor physical injuries, her condition was not disclosed.

A 50-year-old male resident of Brantford was arrested and charged with assault and unlawfully being in a dwelling. The accused was held for bail pending further legal proceedings.

In an unexpected turn of events, the responding officers also managed to apprehend another individual with outstanding arrest warrants. A 47-year-old male resident of Brantford was taken into custody on the basis of the outstanding warrants.
